"Co-Active Change: Learning from Coaching to Manage Change"

The co-active model of coaching is one of the leading models of coaching and has been in use for over thirty years. It is known for generating lasting results for individuals and small groups because it fosters ownership and commitment on the part of the client. In this session, participants will learn about the co-active model and how we can adapt it to change management to increase the effectiveness of our interventions. Participants will also learn the foundational skills necessary to use the co-active model, including new ways of listening, applying curiosity, forwarding action and designing alliances. Internal and external change agents and consultants alike can apply this model and its corresponding skills to generate results. As a result, change clients will experience greater ownership of their change management strategies and commitment to the plans of action.

Biography:
Rick Sabatino is a seasoned change professional with experience in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, healthcare, business services, food services, broadcasting, and software development. His roles have included organizational development, corporate training, operations consulting, and change management. He earned his Master's degree in Communication and Graduate Certificate in Mediation from Texas State University - San Marcos. He is an Eagle Scout, a trained coach and a firewalking instructor. He teaches college and corporate courses in public speaking, group dynamics, innovation, instructional communication, and interpersonal relations. His clients appreciate his fresh and playful approaches to change that balance business and relational demands and use fun to temper the anxiety associated with change.
