"Internal Change Management at PricewaterhouseCoopers: Leading 2K Partners to the Same Watering Hole"

PricewaterhouseCoopers, a professional services firm with over 2,000 partners and 30,000 staff in the US, has an internal change management consultancy. The mission of this group is to identify and address the people-related risks and opportunities associated with change and transformation of internal-facing projects and initiatives. This presentation will outline the challenges and nuances associated with change management in a partnership. Special attention and focus will be given to PwC's change management model, as well as successful and less successful examples of strategizing and implementing change for internal projects.

 

Biographies:

Laurie Barrueta
Laurie Barrueta is a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, providing internal consulting services in the areas of Change Management and Process Improvement. As a member of the Firm's internal consulting practice, she advises on national and international strategic initiatives designed to improve the experiences of both employees and the Firm's clients.

For 8 years, she consulted for international organizations, NGOs and in the US healthcare sector, in the areas of social and economic policy development and program management, strategic planning and communications, organizational development, and process improvement.

Post-9/11, she worked for New York City's Department of Small Business Services as a Strategic Planning Advisor, then consulted in the areas of leadership and management development for healthcare organizations nationwide.

Laurie secured a Certificate in French from The Sorbonne in 1982 and a BA in English from SUNY Buffalo in 1983, then worked for 8 years in the areas of Journalism, Public Relations and Marketing before earning her Masters in International Affairs at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs in 1994. In 2002, she secured a Certificate in Organizational Development from The New School's Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy. She was certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt in 2006.
 

Lowell Knauer
For the past several years, Lowell has led change management efforts on multiple teams throughout different departments at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has led the implementation of change management strategies in the Auditing and Tax practices for internal process improvement initiatives around communications and training. He also has instructed Six Sigma Green Belt training classes in change management process and techniques.

Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1999, Lowell worked on a number of global and cross functional projects in the corporate finance and credit risk management groups of JPMorgan, specifically improving data quality levels in finance systems as well as managing global credit reporting systems.
Lowell holds a BA degree from Penn State University and an MBA degree from Pace University. He has a NASDAQ Series 7 License and earned his Green Belt Certification in 2006.
